NeoGraft®

Follicular unit extraction (FUE) is a hair restoration technique that differs from the traditional strip method in the way the hair grafts are harvested. Instead of harvesting many follicles at once by removing a thin strip of the scalp, with FUE each hair graft from the donor site is harvested individually. The NeoGraft Follicular Unit Extraction System is a state-of-the-art hair transplant system that Dr. Fisher offers as an option to his hair restoration patients in Nashville.

How is NeoGraft FUE Performed?

With FUE, small hair grafts (approximately 1 mm or smaller) are taken from the donor site, which is usually at the back of the head. The NeoGraft system incorporates an automated punch that is used to harvest each graft through gentle, uniform pressure. NeoGraft enables Dr. Fisher and his staff to harvest high-quality grafts because there is minimal impact to the fragile hair follicles. The survival rate of the grafts is optimized as they are not handled and are kept moist in a specialized harvesting canister throughout the harvesting process.

Is NeoGraft Right for Me?

While the NeoGraft system uses the latest technology, it’s not appropriate for every patient. During your consultation, Dr. Fisher will weigh a variety of factors including the amount, thickness, and texture of your remaining hair, and your desired hair style before recommending a specific technique. Dr. Fisher’s specialized training in plastic and reconstructive surgery and years of experience performing hair transplant surgery make him exceptionally qualified to select the most beneficial technique for you.

How is NeoGraft Different?

Because NeoGraft does not involve an incision at the donor site:

  • There are no sutures used
  • After healing, many patients can wear their hair short without a noticeable scar showing
  • It is appropriate for few or many grafts
